Ten years of securing our future: the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity

We are celebrating the first 10 years of impact of the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC), housed at the School of Information. The CLTC is dedicated to solving critical cybersecurity challenges, and the key programs featured in the video below provide an overview of some of the people and programs working to look over the horizon and expand access to digital security for the next decade and beyond.

These programs are:

The UC Berkeley Cybersecurity Clinic, a trailblazing course that trains students to provide pro bono digital security assistance to organizations with limited resources. CLTC also co-founded the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, which has a goal to launch a cybersecurity clinic in every U.S. state by 2030.

The CLTC Public Interest Cybersecurity program, a multi-pronged initiative aimed at improving the digital security of vital institutions like schools, hospitals, city governments, and other civil infrastructure. CLTC is a lead convener of the Cyber Resilience Corps, which aligns the work of cyber volunteers across sectors, and organizes events like the Cyber Civil Defense Summit, a conference focused on cyber civil defense.

The AI Security Initiative (AISI), a hub for interdisciplinary research on the global security implications of artificial intelligence. CLTC also partners with the CITRIS Policy Lab to lead the AI Policy Hub, which trains graduate students to develop research and recommendations for the AI policy landscape.
