Adrian Bayer is a first year Ph.D. student in the Department of Physics, recipient of the Berkeley Fellowship, and second-place winner of the 2019 Berkeley Graduate Fellows Video Contest. He works at the intersection of physics and data science, where he uncovers our universe’s deepest secrets. In his award-winning video, Bayer talks about Berkeley’s culture, his fellowship, and Cal’s place at the forefront of interdisciplinary research, which allows him to “rewind the clock to a time when our universe was made almost exclusively of dark matter” and collaborate with data scientists “to understand our place in the cosmos like never before.”
