Grow and engage with Cal

Our shared Berkeley identity is lifelong. Join in one of the many engagement opportunities available to you, and find yourself at Berkeley again.

Bridging the past and the future, spanning professional industries and academic disciplines, and bringing personal strengths and lived experiences to bear, Berkeley alumni represent an unparalleled trove of knowledge, pursuits, and connections. When we come together, we benefit each other and the university itself.

Grow your career prospects or areas of personal enrichment:

Get involved with a community of alums who share your interests or affiliations:

  • My Berkeley is your centralized platform for connecting alumni and students across UC Berkeley. Explore formal mentorship programs, job shadowing, and more.
  • Cultural affinity group newsletters for Black, Asian American, and Latinx alumni are published quarterly and highlight stories, events, and opportunities that celebrate each community’s unique experiences and contributions to Cal.
  • Join the Cal Alumni Association (CAA) and find a domestic or affinity-based chapter near you.
  • Alumni abroad can participate in the International Alumni Network, which has alumni clubs and regional representatives in 36 countries.

Give of your time, network, or resources via volunteering, mentoring, or advocating:

  • Alumni Ambassador volunteers represent UC Berkeley at local college fairs to recruit a competitive and diverse student body.
  • Seasonal volunteers are needed for alumni scholarship selections to directly review applications and select recipients for prestigious undergraduate scholarships.
  • Big Give Ambassadors help spread the word about UC Berkeley’s annual fundraising event by sharing their Cal pride on social media and encouraging others to give.
  • Alums are invited as Career Engagement volunteers to support workshops and events that help students explore career paths, prepare for internships, and build professional networks.
  • The UC Advocacy Network (UCAN) is a digital civic engagement platform that allows busy alumni to use their political capital to advocate for state and federal support of the UC system.
